In order to explore the caves in Sorbas it is necessary to obtain permission from the Junta de Andalucía. "Monday Cavers" currently do this through GTS (a local Spanish caving group) however this permission is dependent on active participants belonging to an association that provides third party insurance. Joining the Federation Canaria via our association with GTS is one possibility. Below is a link to the Federation Canaria website showing 2021 prices (Please add 15.00 € to the published price as a contribution to GTS funds). There is also a link to a PDF of the insurance policy, unfortunately it is in Spanish, but in simple terms if someone is injured in a cave all the costs of rescue will be covered.

Alternatively you could join the British Caving Association or similar organisation but please make your own enquiries as to whether membership covers more than 3rd party indemnity whilst caving abroad if that is what you require.
